Chanel Spellman-Timmons
The Story & Soul Coach

Chanel Spellman-Timmons is a queer, Black, Oakland-bred, and Philly-based writer, relationship coach, educator, and creative consultant whose work centers storytelling, emotional truth, and authentic human connection. She is the creator and host of the podcast Blurbs N Verbs and co-host of Room 2-25, where she and her partner of over twenty years explore the realities of long-term love, growth, and partnership.
A founding member of the Bay Area performance groups Pr3ssPlay Poets and Griot Noir, Chanel earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College and studied through the prestigious VONA writer's residency.
As a relationship coach, Chanel specializes in helping individuals, couples, polycules, and nontraditional partnerships deepen communication, emotional honesty, and self-awareness. Her coaching approach is inquiry-based, compassionate, and rooted in emotional depth, encouraging clients to explore vulnerability, boundaries, intimacy, and authentic connection. Drawing from over two decades of lived relationship experience, she supports clients navigating conscious monogamy, consensual non-monogamy, personal growth, and relational healing. Through both her creative and coaching work, Chanel empowers people to embrace authenticity, communicate with intention, and cultivate relationships grounded in trust, courage, and emotional fulfillment.
